Fall 2009 Ready to Go [23 Mar 2009|05:41pm]
Fall 2009 is all ready to be scheduled!

It's been a while since I've posted here. Ever since the UofM switched to using a standard CSV file, its been a lot easier to update MSchedule. And, if you want to help us out with the hosting bill, go ahead, and buy your textbooks on Amazon through this link. Happy scheduling!

Passed The Baton, Fall 2007 Ready [28 Mar 2007|02:56am]
Fall 2007 is ready to be scheduled away. Direct most sexual favors Scott Goldman's way, and maybe a few my (Kyle Mulka's) way. Thanks for being patient. It always amazes me every semester how many people freak out when Mschedule isn't hot and ready when that email about registration appointments gets sent out.

Passing the Baton [23 Mar 2007|05:52pm]
UPDATE: see next post

As you may have noticed, Mschedule has not been updated for Fall 2007. The main reason is that I don't plan on being here next semester, and don't have a ton of motivation to work on it right now. So... If anyone wants to take on the responsibility of updating Mschedule, let me know. If you just want to keep the data updated, basically, you just have to populate two different MySQL databases with data from the University, which is now in a CSV file. This will be much faster and easier than trying to scrape Wolverine Access. The schedule of classes changes, so this needs to be done at least weekly through scheduling season which includes the summer for freshman. Email mschedule@umich.edu for more info.

Spread the word.... Mschedule is up for Fall 2006 including the automatic schedule generator! I've fixed it once again... But, the domain with the i is still dead, and probably won't be coming back to life. Check it out and let me know if you have any problems.

problem fixed? [13 Jan 2006|02:08pm]
I've found a work around to the email problem, so try to reset your password now. After a long drawn out battle with the tech support at my hosting provider, which they still haven't solved the issue AT ALL. I can no longer send confirmation emails where everything is embeded into the link. For right now, I've separated the uniqname and code out... We'll see how long that works.

A few people here and there have been signing up for Mschedule, but its not as popular as I thought it would be with the freshmen. Oh well...

There is still some missing data for sections with two or more different times, but those are a minority. So, if your schedule is wrong, let me know and I'll fix it.

MIschedule is up! [02 Apr 2005|06:06pm]
MIschedule.com is up and running for Fall 2005! You are now able to "Save" your courses to Mschedule provided that you are logged in.

The course data for Fall 2005 has not been formated for Mschedule yet, but I'm hoping to get to that soon.

Mschedule facelift [05 Jan 2005|06:50pm]
So, Matt Pizzimenti and I have been working on the new version of Mschedule for a few weeks now. We're not quite ready to release it, but we're going to set up a preview site so that you can test out the latest and greatest features before they are put on the main site. Here's the url:

Classes for Winter 2005 have been loaded. You can now use Mschedule.com for Winter 2005 as well as Fall 2004. I'll be taking down classes for the fall once the term is over.

Schedule Generator [03 Oct 2004|09:40pm]
Remember MISchedule.com? Well, there are several services like it. One is currently being developed at the following page:
http://www.schedulegenerator.com/

We are discussing teaming together to create a more useful site for student scheduleing. One thing would be to allow you to import a possible schedule from the schedule generator right into mschedule with one click. Another possibility is being able to more easily take the same classes as your friends. Any comments, suggestions?

Email back up [22 Sep 2004|08:34pm]
For a few days email functionality was not working, so it wasn't sending invites or confirmation emails. I finally found a fix, and it is now working again.

Slow Site - Server Change [11 Sep 2004|01:57am]
I'm currently working on changing the server for the site. The web host that I was using was having a lot of problems. Sometimes it was fast, sometimes slow, and sometimes it didn't work at all. I'm hoping that once I get this on my own computer I will have more control over it and the other web sites won't effect mine.

School's Starting [31 Aug 2004|11:39am]
Yup, that's right, the semester has almost started. For me, that means that I'll be super busy and won't have very much time to work on Mschedule.com, so, unfortunately, I will have to put the development on hold. I think the website will stay relatively unchanged for a while unless I find time to work on it.

Reset Password [29 Aug 2004|06:50pm]
This might not be even worth writing, because if you have visited the site lately, you have probably already figured this out by now. You can now reset your password by yourself. The site will now send you an email with a confirmation link.

Group Scheduling [27 Aug 2004|10:34pm]
Group Scheduling is now up. Check it out on the "group" page. Some things I'm thinking about adding to it:

-a unique color code for each person so you can see who has class when
-shading based on the number of people who have a class then. the darker the shade, the more people or something

The Schedule Sharing Tool is getting its own domain name! I've also decided to change the site name to simply Mschedule.com. Here's the new URL:
